Fifty years should be celebrated. I have outlasted Nixon, the Edsel, the Cold War, and insanity. Okay maybe not so much the insanity. I now will call it, second childhood.

Did you know that taking three small children at a time to the doctor is like trying to swim laps in the bathtub? All the elements are there for good, but for some reason, the elements are not meeting the need. IN other words, kids went to the doctor, we got the headaches.
Barak Obama. Teens talk about him, Young adults are enthusiastic about him. Tweens are excited to have a new president that has kids who might be on Hannah Montana. Ethnic and minority groups find hope from his election. My five year old granddaughter and her friends all now say...United States of America, President Barak Obama. Ask them who the current president is and one gets a blank look. This conversation was interesting:
"Cass, who is the president now?
I don't know.
George Bush. Did you see him on TV?
Him, Mawmaw? He talks like an idiot. He said a whole bunch of stuff that sounded dumb and he made that stupid face like Nicholas acting like he is dumb."
Out of the mouth?......
I miss my friends. Children, sick children, expenses, needs, wants, gottas all lead to a lonely life. Writing and reading are lonely jobs, but this is different. I wonder how those people who choose to have children later, cope with the reality of children.
This is still Florida, but temps in the 50's all week and lows at 30 degrees really wouldn't prove it. Whoever is in charge....FLORIDA.... Putting people in the holiday spirit way too early.
Heard this the other day...."Gay people don't stay together that long, so why do they want to marry?" hmmmm ...prop 8 and Amendment 2 and their ilk lost big time in the elections. Could this maybe be part of the problem? I know it isn't right, but maybe there should be emphasis on the fact the gay and lesbian community does have many members who are together for years and years. And the rest of us find divorce way to convenient. hmmmm? Maybe we should ask the five year olds.
Am I the only one hoping Black Friday is a good sale day? For the first time in years?
Holiday music...the sounds of the season...lights....decorations....excitement....a good moment in a down economy...new hope with the new year...Thanksgiving dinner...children's smiles...Santa...nativity scenes...angels...cookies...joy to the world or just your own little corner.
